In 1862, Union General Ulysses S. Grant tried many times to take Vicksburg. Grant helped the Union with the Anaconda plan in cutting off the Confederacy. But it heavily hurt the citizens of coastal cities and traders. Because of the blockade it weakened trade- TO BE FINISHED
